Recently IRD announced their new eDocuments service which is coming soon.
In the future, statements, notices and other correspondence from IRD will be available electronically in your myIR account. These will be known as “eDocuments”.
This means that correspondence, like statements for GST and employer deductions, will no longer be mailed to you.
If I, or your Tax Agent currently receive mail from IRD on your behalf this will still continue.
If you have a myIR account, you will be able to view an electronic copy of the mail sent to me or your tax agent. This means you may see these eDocuments before we as tax agents receive the paper document in the mail.
